Overview

The Benefits Specialist sits within the Gallagher Corporate Reward team, supporting the delivery of a comprehensive end-to-end benefits offering across the UK and international (excluding the US) population.

 

The primary focus of the role is to manage and oversee UK and EMEA employee benefits, pensions, and wellbeing programmes. The role also supports the setup of benefits in new locations and contributes to the harmonisation of programmes arising from M&A activity.

 

You will work closely with key stakeholders, including HR Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, HR Operations, and external providers, to support strategic initiatives, resolve employee queries, and ensure the smooth and effective delivery of benefits processes.

 

This role is based from our London office based on Lombard Street, City of London. The team worked in a hybrid manner and you will be expected in 2-3 days per week.

 

How you'll make an impact

 
  • International locations – Support benefits administration and programme design across EMEA and other international regions, including oversight of medical and risk plans and supporting new country setups following M&A activity.
  • Benefits management – Support delivery of a market-leading benefits offering, driving cost efficiencies, maintaining policies and processes, and partnering with providers to review and implement new benefits. Ensure alignment with market trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Flexible benefits – Support administration of the flexible benefits platform, working with the provider, resolving escalated queries, and supporting annual renewals (including research, testing, and communications).
  • Service delivery – Support query escalation, service provision, and continuous improvement. Contribute to guidance materials, tools, and templates, and provide expertise to HR Operations.
  • M&A activity – Support reward and benefits integration for acquisitions.
  • Employee communications – Assist in delivering effective benefits communications to drive awareness, engagement, and uptake, including onboarding materials and targeted campaigns.
  • Wellbeing – Support the planning and delivery of wellbeing initiatives and events throughout the year.

 

About you

  • Experience in Benefits, Reward, HR, or Client Services, with a proven track record in an international organisation.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIPD) preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced), with the ability to analyse and present data effectively.
  • Experience with HR systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Experience with benefits platforms/systems (desirable).
  • Experience in an in-house Reward/Benefits role within a UK-based financial or professional services environment.
  • Exposure to international benefits, particularly across EMEA.
  • Understanding of UK pensions legislation and benefits-related tax requirements.
  • Experience supporting reward processes within M&A activity.
  • Data analysis and management information capability.
  • Ability to speak different languages such as Spanish, German, French would be advantageous but is not essential.
