Payroll Officer

Job Description

We’re looking for a Temporary Payroll Officer to join a small, supportive team in Pickering on a temporary basis. An hourly rate of £13 to £16 per hour is available for the right individual, with part-time hours considered, as well as full-time.

As a Temporary Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processes, working closely with the team to support the business with essential finance tasks.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time.
• Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintaining employee records and updating payroll systems.
• Supporting compliance with payroll regulations and procedures.
• Assisting with other ad hoc finance tasks as needed.

To be successful in this Temporary Payroll Officer role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in payroll administration or a similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

We would be keen to speak with individuals who are currently in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Officer, Finance Admin, Accounts Administrator role who are looking for a new challenge. You may also be a Payroll Admin, Payroll Clerk. Payroll Manager or Administrator or Office Manager where payroll has been part of your role.

Based in Pickering, this role is commutable from Scarborough, Scalby, Sherburn, Whitby, Malton and surrounding areas, with parking available on-site.
