Senior HR & Payroll Functional AnalystJob Description:
What you’ll be doing:
Operating within a large HR & Payroll shared service environment, supporting high‑volume transactional activity.
Managing significant volumes of pay‑impacting changes, ensuring all downstream HR documentation (contracts, letters, schedules) is produced accurately and on time.
Creating and maintaining SOPs, process maps, workflows, and test scripts to support operational delivery.
Supporting deep‑dive analysis, reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities to streamline and improve ways of working.
Working closely with HR, Payroll, and programme teams throughout a major systems transition and transformation programme.
Contributing to workflow design and operational enhancements, helping shape how HR & Payroll services are delivered in a high‑volume environment.
Acting as an experienced operator within the team — taking ownership of complex tasks, providing guidance to Analysts, and upholding quality across transactional outputs
Experience working in large HR/Payroll shared service centres or outsourced operational environments.
Strong background in high‑volume transactional HR and payroll work, where the two functions are closely connected.
Experience supporting major systems transitions (e.g., SAP ↔ Oracle) or large‑scale transformation programmes.
Background from public sector (Civil Service, NHS Trusts, county councils) or large scale organisations
Ability to confidently create and maintain: - Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Process maps and workflows - Test scripts for systems or process validation -
Strong analytical capability and comfort with reviewing processes and identifying operational improvements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving, transformation‑heavy environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy within high‑volume, complex change environments.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with HR, Payroll and programme stakeholders. -
Proactive, solutions-driven approach with the ability to work independently and support junior team members where required
