About IRIS

IRIS Software Group is one of the UK's largest privately held software companies, trusted by 100,000+ businesses, schools and accountancy firms to keep their operations running. Our software pays 1 in 6 UK employees, supports over 12,000 schools, and is relied on by 91 of the top 100 UK accountancy firms.

We're a Great Place to Work® certified employer, recognised for our commitment to well-being, inclusion and development - and we're growing fast.

Paycheck Plus is part of IRIS Managed Payroll Services, where we run payroll on behalf of our clients and take responsibility for making sure their people are paid correctly and on time.

We’re looking for someone with Irish payroll experience who is ready to take on more ownership, build deeper payroll knowledge and manage their own portfolio of clients.

As a Client Payroll Executive (L3), you’ll be trusted to manage payroll delivery yourself, while continuing to develop your expertise with support from experienced colleagues around you.

For someone looking to continue progressing their career within IRIS, this is an opportunity to develop into a payroll specialist in an area where your work has a clear impact every month.

🧾 What does the role actually involve?

You’ll own a portfolio of clients and be responsible for running their Irish payrolls from start to finish.

That means taking the information provided by your clients, processing their payroll accurately, completing the necessary checks and making sure everything is ready by the agreed deadline.

You’ll also be a key contact for your clients when they have payroll questions or need support.

Put simply: your clients trust you to make sure their people are paid correctly.

👥 Where will you sit?

You’ll join Paycheck Plus, our specialist Irish payroll bureau within Managed Payroll Services.

The team includes experienced Client Payroll Executives and senior payroll colleagues, each managing their own client portfolios.

You’ll have responsibility for your own work and deadlines, but you won’t be working alone. The team shares knowledge, supports each other during busy periods and helps solve more complicated payroll issues together.

📊 What you'll be doing

Your role will include:

  • Managing end-to-end Irish payroll for multiple clients

  • Owning your client payrolls and making sure deadlines are met

  • Processing pay, deductions, benefits and other payroll changes

  • Checking payroll information and resolving anything that doesn’t look right

  • Producing payroll reports, journals and relevant returns

  • Supporting CSO requirements and other Irish payroll obligations

  • Making sure payrolls comply with legislation, GDPR and IRIS processes

  • Answering payroll queries from clients and their employees

  • Building relationships with your clients and understanding how they work

  • Managing your workload across different payroll deadlines

  • Identifying opportunities to make processes simpler or more efficient

  • Supporting testing, system changes and wider Paycheck Plus projects

🔎 What we’re looking for

You don’t need to know everything already. This is a Level 3 role where you’ll continue building towards deeper subject matter expertise.

You will, however, need a good foundation in Irish payroll and the confidence to take responsibility for payroll delivery.

We’re particularly interested in experience with:

  • Processing Irish payroll end-to-end

  • Managing multiple payrolls or different payroll deadlines

  • Working within a payroll bureau, outsourced payroll or managed payroll environment

  • Irish payroll legislation and compliance

  • Sage Micropay or similar payroll systems

  • Payroll journals, benefits and CSO returns

  • Excel and Outlook

  • Managing queries and communicating clearly with customers or clients

An IPASS qualification, or progress towards one, would also be valuable.

Just as importantly, you’ll need to be organised, comfortable taking ownership and willing to ask for help when something needs another pair of eyes.

📈 Why consider this as your next move within IRIS?

This role can give you a much broader payroll experience than processing one internal payroll.

You’ll work across different clients, payrolls and situations, helping you build your knowledge more quickly and become someone others can turn to for payroll expertise.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of your own client portfolio

  • Build stronger end-to-end Irish payroll knowledge

  • Gain more client-facing experience

  • Work with a wider range of payroll scenarios

  • Develop your judgement and problem-solving skills

  • Learn from experienced payroll specialists

  • Contribute ideas for improving how we work

  • Build experience that can support your longer-term progression within Paycheck Plus, Managed Payroll Services and IRIS

🚀 Interested in developing your career with Paycheck Plus?

If you already have experience with Irish payroll and feel ready to take on more responsibility, we’d encourage you to apply – even if you don’t tick every box above.

Your existing knowledge of IRIS, our customers and how we work could give you a strong foundation to build from.

Apply internally to find out more about the team, the role and where it could take your career next.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Impact: Your work will influence millions globally.

  • Growth: Continuous learning and career development opportunities.

  • Belonging: A culture that celebrates diversity and empowers every individual.
