Compensation and Benefits Manager

Wellingborough or London | Hybrid

This specialist role leads how reward is designed, delivered and experienced across the Group. Working within a hands‑on HR team, the focus is on pay, bonus and benefits, ensuring activity is well governed, clearly communicated and practically delivered. The role supports attraction, retention and trust by balancing robust reward frameworks with a strong understanding of colleague experience and expectations.

This is a broad, delivery‑focused role, combining technical reward expertise with day‑to‑day ownership of compensation and benefits activity in a regulated environment.

Why choose Weatherbys?

Working for Weatherbys means being part of our centuries-long history whilst building a future filled with ambition. Over the last three decades, our finance Group has evolved to provide specialist services across Private Banking, Business Banking, Racing Banking and Arkle Finance – all as part of one Weatherbys family. Now, we’re looking to elevate the people-first service we provide even further, as we help our clients achieve their financial goals for life. To do so, we’ll be investing heavily in our systems, our technology, and above all, in our people. Join us, driving innovative ideas, building the strongest of human connections, and developing finance that puts people first.

What sets this role apart?

  • Ownership of reward end‑to‑end across a growing banking Group
  • A genuine blend of compensation and benefits, not a narrow specialism
  • Hands‑on delivery alongside technical reward expertise
  • Close working relationship with senior leaders, Finance and external advisers
  • Exposure to Board and RemCo activity without being a decision‑maker
  • Flexible working, with a choice of office location and hybrid working

Your focus will include

  • Delivering the annual pay and bonus cycle from design through to approval and implementation
  • Leading pay benchmarking, job levelling and job architecture activity
  • Managing benefit renewals, providers, platforms and day‑to‑day administration
  • Preparing reward analysis, modelling and proposals for senior stakeholders
  • Ensuring reward activity is accurate, compliant and well governed
  • Improving how pay, benefits and wellbeing offerings are communicated and understood
  • Supporting data submissions and materials for senior governance forums

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in reward, compensation and benefits, or a broader HR role with strong reward ownership
  • Demonstrable experience delivering pay, bonus or benefits activity in a regulated environment
  • Confidence working with reward data, modelling and analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgement when handling sensitive information
  • Ability to explain reward clearly and practically to non‑specialist audiences
  • A formal reward qualification is not essential, but would be an advantage
