Payroll & HR Assistant, Part Time, Carlisle

Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

About This Opportunity

Due to sustained business expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Assistant to join their small, friendly HR team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment.

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting payroll operations for a busy workforce of over 1,500 employees across numerous company departments, while providing essential administrative support to the HR department.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations:

  • Support monthly payroll processing using payroll software systems
  • Conduct thorough verification of payslips against submissions

HR Administrative Support:

  • Handle confidential correspondence and documentation
  • Process reference requests with appropriate discretion
  • Coordinate internal training programmes and events
  • Manage office supplies, filing systems, and document scanning
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the HR team as required

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous payroll experience or relevant training
  • Experience with payroll software systems
  • Background in HR administration or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy under pressure
  • Outstanding organisational and time management abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Outlook)
