Let’s fix hospitality, for good.
We’re on a mission to help the hospitality industry double their profitability, reduce their carbon footprint, and create better working environments for their teams.
Our CEO, Conor, founded and scaled Mad Egg, one of the fastest-growing restaurant groups in Ireland. Having experienced firsthand the frustration of juggling “market-leading” restaurant management systems, spreadsheets, and paper printouts, he set out to build the solution he wished he had from day one: Nory.
Now, we’re scaling fast. We have a real product solving real problems, and we can barely keep up with demand. With ambitious goals for 2025 and a recent Series A led by Accel, we’ve grown to a team of 50+ across Ireland, the UK, and Spain.
We’re looking for a Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll operations for our clients, liaising directly with restaurant groups and our external bureau partners to make sure payroll is accurate, compliant, and headache-free. This role is perfect for someone with a strong grounding in UK & Ireland payroll, experience in a bureau or client-facing environment, and the drive to thrive in a fast-moving startup.
🌍 Please note: this role can be 100% remote within the UK / Ireland, or you can work hybrid from our Holborn, London or IFSC, Dublin office. You must have the right ot work in the UK/Ireland to be considered for this role.
Client partnership: Act as the go-to payroll contact for clients, guiding them through onboarding, implementation, processing and ongoing support
Processing: Manage the full payroll pipeline (from pre-sale through live), partner with Sales and CS, and own client payroll calendars
Bureau management: Coordinate with our external payroll bureau to ensure accurate and timely processing for all client accounts
Compliance & regulation: Keep payroll processes compliant with HMRC, PAYE, NI, pensions, holiday pay, and other regulations. Stay on top of legislative changes and drive updates internally
Process improvement: Standardise workflows across clients, streamline for efficiency, and partner with Product/Engineering to help shape smarter payroll tools
Internal expertise: Be the in-house payroll expert, answering queries and ensuring teams have the right documentation and guidance
Excellent knowledge of UK & Ireland payroll legislation; US payroll knowledge is a plus
Experience in client-facing payroll roles, ideally within a bureau or agency setup
Confidence with payroll systems, HMRC submissions, BACS, Auto Enrolment, P11Ds, and payroll journals
Solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
Organisational skills and attention to detail - you thrive when juggling multiple client deadlines
Clear, confident communicator who can work across clients, third parties, and internal teams
A sense of ownership: when you spot a problem, you fix it
Startup mentality: proactive, resourceful, and comfortable wearing many hats
💰 Competitive salary range depending on experience
📈 Equity at our Series A valuation
🌴 35 days of paid leave per year (including bank holidays)
🏥 Comprehensive private health insurance
🍼 Enhanced parental leave and baby loss support
📚 Learning & development culture – €1000 personal annual budget + quarterly book budget
