Trainee Payroll Administrator

Are you organised, good with numbers, and looking for a role where you can learn, develop and build a long-term career? We're looking for a Trainee Payroll Administrator to join our growing team and support the delivery of our in house monthly payroll and employee benefits administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career or with some administrative experience who wants to develop specialist skills in payroll. Full training will be provided, along with the opportunity to study towards a CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification as you progress.

What you'll be doing:

• Learning the end-to-end payroll process, supporting the accurate and timely delivery of monthly payroll.
• Processing payroll changes including starters, leavers, salary updates, overtime and absences.
• Assisting with pensions, employee benefits and payroll reporting.
• Responding to payroll queries and providing great support to colleagues.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and company policies.
• Providing ADHOC support to the HR team while developing your payroll expertise.

What we're looking for:

• Strong attention to detail and a good level of numeracy.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and other systems.
• A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• An interest in building a career in payroll, benefits or HR administration.

The role is based in Lichfield, is a short walk from Lichfield City Train station and is commutable distance from Walsall, Aldridge, Cannock, Rugeley, Burntwood, Tamworth and surrounding areas with free onsite parking.
